What a View

It's Thanksgiving and we went down to Papa's museum to watch the parade because he has a great view from his office. At first all I really cared about was my balloon and my snacks! I soon became interested when all of those balloons we saw the day before were coming down Central Park West!

I got really excited when I saw Abbie Cadabie! Boy those balloons get big when all of the air is in them!

Here is a close up view of Abbie from ten floors up!

After awhile, I started to get bored with the balloons. To entertain myself I decided to eat my crackers with a spoon. Mommy and Daddy were just happy I was sitting in one place instead of running around all of the offices!

By far the best part of the day was when Papa spun me around in his chair. I may look dizzy here, but I am having a blast! Too bad Mommy and Daddy don't let me do this at home.

Watching the Balloons

The Thanksgiving Day Parade starts right near our apartment and the balloons get blown up the day before. Mommy and Daddy thought it would be great to take me to see them. Little did they know that I was more interested in the water fountain near the museum. How could they not know this? I love water! So I finally decided it would be a good idea to actually go look at the balloons. I saw one balloon that I recognized...Kermit! I kept saying "frog" and trying to talk to him, but he didn't respond.
Then I saw Abbie Cadabie from Sesame Street. I got really excited because I know that Abbie is friends with Elmo so I thought he might be there too. Unfortunately, I guess Elmo didn't get the memo because he was not part of the parade. Maybe next year!

Here I am still digesting the news that Elmo was not there...I don't look very happy, do I?
Getting my very own balloon did cheer me up and get me excited again! I can't wait to see the parade tomorrow and see the balloons all finished!

Last Day on the Beach

Today was the last day on the beach. Luckily it was another beautiful day. I took full advantage of the weather and played in the water in my chair. The waves were not as big today and I didn't have to worry about loosing my shovel. At lunch I hit the jackpot. Since I would not eat the macaroni and cheese that Mommy ordered for me, I got to eat ice cream instead. Boy did I luck out in this deal! By the way, Papa ate my macaroni and cheese and his lunch...he must have been hungry!
Here I am saying bye bye to the beach! What a great vacation! I can't wait to come back...maybe by then they would have done something about all of the sand on the beach!

Let the Sun Shine!

Well the sun finally made an appearance! It was such a beautiful day and for once we weren't the only people at the beach! The umbrella that Mommy and Daddy got for me actually got some use today! Since I was sick last week and did not eat much, I have taken the opportunity this week to catch up. Having food in my mouth was a pretty familiar scene the past few days! Here I am trying to figure out how I am going to get in the water without touching any sand.
I figured it out...I had Daddy take me with him!
Again, Mommy and Daddy made me pose with them on the beach for a family picture. I always seem to have my fingers in my mouth when we take these!

Windy Day on the Beach

Well the weatherpeople down here don't really know what they are talking about. They said that the sun was supposed to come out today so Papa, Mima, Mommy and Daddy and I went to the beach. Again, we were the only ones there, but we thought we were finally going to be able to catch some rays. Boy were we wrong. However, that didn't spoil my fun (at least in the beginning). Papa and I took a nice walk on the beach. No, you are not seeing things, those are my feet touching the sand. That was the only time that happened today. The fun started to wear out when the wind started to blow. Mima and Papa wanted to leave, but Mommy and Daddy were convinced that the sun was going to come out and they were going to be able to get a tan. I bundled up with Mima in order to stay warm!
We even went to lunch early in order to warm up! Here I am pretending that my menu was a hat!
After lunch Mommy still didn't want to leave so she cuddled with me so that I could fall asleep. I guess shortly after I fell asleep it really started to get cold and they came to their senses and decided to leave. However, my nap was cut short and I was in a bad mood for awhile after.

Poolside

I was so happy when Mommy and Daddy told me we were going to go to the pool again today. I was not so happy when they decided to take me to the baby pool. Who do they think I am? I have been taking swim lessons since I was five months old. I can handle the big pool.I was able to make my escape to the big pool. Unfortunately Mommy and Daddy caught up with me but the good news was that Daddy took me in the pool!
Here I am showing Daddy all of the skills I learned in swim class. I love blowing bubbles!

Next I wanted to show Daddy how I could Humpty Dumpty off the side of the wall.
All of that work tired me out so I decided to take a little rest on the pool chairs! What a great day!

Outlet Shopping

Hurricane Ida was downgraded to a Tropical Storm but that didn't stop the clouds today so Mommy and Daddy decided it would be a good day to go to the outlets. Since it was windy, I was worried that Mommy and Daddy did not pack me enough clothes so I thought I would get a hat for the trip. Do you think it is too much?Mommy and Daddy decided that the hat was not necessary for the Florida weather so we left it in the store. Oh well...I got over it once I saw the water fountain.
Daddy needed to get new shoes, so I thought it would be nice if I helped him out. He told me what shoes he liked and I tried them on for him!

Mommy and Daddy rewarded all my hard work with a nice lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. I don't eat pizza so I had chicken instead. Yum!!
It finally cleared out a little so we went to the pool and I took a little nap poolside. This is the life!

Daddy to the Rescue

I am finally in Florida! Mommy and Daddy have been talking about it for awhile but I really did not remember the last time I was here. Even though it wasn't the best beach day (thanks to Hurricane Ida), we still went to the beach. We were the only ones there but Mommy and Daddy said that we were going to have a good time! They set up my tent and gave me my beach toys...as you can see, but they forgot one important thing... I HATE the sand! Once I realized that I couldn't leave my blanket without touching that stuff I was not a happy girl.
Daddy saved the day and got me my own chair that I could sit in! I could read my books and play with my toys without touching the sand.

Then Daddy moved my chair into the water. That was where I had the most fun. It was the best of both worlds. I got to play in the water, but I didn't have to get all icky from the sand.
